DMA Needs

Donations to the DMA through the Non-Profit Dayton Foundation

The Dayton Microcomputer Association, Inc. (DMA) is a 501c(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer, social-service organization, most commonly known as a Computer User Group. For over 50 years, the DMA has educated the technology-curious community.

We are a valuable resource for all things digital, making sense of today’s technology.

The DMA offers multiple Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings on a variety of subjects throughout the month. Some DMA meetings are hybrid, some online only, some in-person only (locations vary), and one is via telephone. All DMA meetings are free and open to the public.

Founded in April 1976 and affiliated with APCUG (https://apcug2.org/), the DMA was one of the first formed Computer User Groups in the world and is the oldest Computer User Group in Southern Ohio.

Currently, the DMA’s biggest project is expanding The Dayton Computer Museum.

  • If you presently enjoy or have enjoyed past DMA meetings or events.
  • If you have learned from your DMA friends through these meetings or events.
  • If you have a spouse who has enjoyed DMA meetings.
  • Or, if you just like what the DMA is doing for the computing community—

Please consider a donation to the DMA through the Non-Profit Dayton Foundation.

Your contribution through the Dayton Foundation can be part of a planned giving program including a stock, bond, commodity donation, Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), or other form of security, including cryptocurrency. The Dayton Foundation does not accept vehicles on behalf of its supported organizations, but it happily accepts land and buildings to convert into cash donations for the DMA. Contributions to the DMA through the Dayton Foundation can also be a one-time donation, an infrequent donation, or a series of scheduled donations. If you choose to donate a vehicle or computer equipment, please tell us through this page: https://www.dma1.org/museum

The easiest way to donate to the DMA is by clicking on the button below and then using a credit card.

Thank you for your desire to contribute and help make a difference. Please note that the Dayton Microcomputer Association, Inc. Term Fund #3819 is a component fund of The Dayton Foundation. On this page, you can also find contact information for Dayton Foundation personnel who can help with donations to the DMA that do not involve a one-time credit card contribution.

Dayton Foundation personnel ask potential donors to call the Dayton Foundation if a donation is anything other than a one-time credit card contribution.

Your donation can be earmarked for various category options, including:

  • Future DMA Event(s).
  • Helping the DMA find a new location for, and to expand its Computer Museum.
  • Expanding the DMA’s existing scholarship program.
  • Other future, as yet undetermined, activities.

To indicate a category preference, please do so only through the “Special Instructions” field. If your donation is being made in the name of another individual, this would also be the place for this information.

The DMA Board of Trustees asks that anything other than dollar donations be
addressed to the DMA first before contacting the Dayton Foundation. The best way to
contact the members of the DMA Board of Trustees is through the DMA’s contact us
form found here: Contact us – Dayton Microcomputer Association.

Thank You.
